Wisdom As I sit and twist and bend the way you think, Feeding you my regurgitated pearls of twisted wisdom You believe that you love me. I strip you of your outer lining; The image of your existence Taking your defenses down like sheets of parchment And you stand uninhibited. I bite my lip, biding my time watching you You stand in awe of the sensory perceptions as they rush in But you just wanted to hear my voice. I take your hand and gently let you down from your pedestal Wondering when you became human I just wanted to be held. Standing in the still of the night on level ground with you I raise my head to peer into your eyes and look into your soul I know you are frightened. We are like eggs with the goodness inside and an exterior shell And with that shell removed we are left with our softness exposed But we no longer must walk softly. Thinking back to the living room, feeling like the pink gastapo had invaded your home Your then fragile ego had gotten the best of you But never again shall you be alone. With just the right amount of pastel pink, violet and even a little periwinkle We can all stand in the glory of a dawning day or even the fading sunset and smile. Believe in tomorrow because sometimes it is all we have
